Our beer culture
Taste tradition
From the Hofbräuhaus Traunstein
In 1602, the Bohemian import of top-fermented brewing technology using wheat instead of barley malt conquered the Duchy of Bavaria. The wheat beer produced in this way became, so to speak, liquid white gold under the reign of Elector Duke Maximilian I. More and more breweries were founded to maintain the region’s prosperity. Among them is the Hofbräuhaus Traunstein, which is now considered one of the top addresses for Bavarian beer art. It’s no coincidence, then, that we’re taking something from this class for our celebrations at the Dieselhaus and serving our guests draft beer from the legendary Hofbräuhaus.

Our beers
Halfway through the glass you already want to order the next one. This is what happens to most people who taste a beer from the Hofbräuhaus Traunstein for the first time. No matter what drop from the heart of southeast Bavaria is currently rising to your head.
There is, for example, the unbeatable wheat beer, which for a long time was the core beer and symbol of the house and still impresses today with full fruit aromas and strong yeast flower. Then the light, whose radiance illuminates sociable hours. Or the Bavarian Pils, which gets a wonderfully fresh bitter note from the exclusive use of Hallertau aroma hops. At Dieselhaus, we bring a concentrated load of flavor directly to your table for you and your guests. Because our Traunstein beer is tapped directly from the barrel. Strike, put in the tap and: It’s tapped!
Our brewery
Located in the Chiemgau region on the border with Austria, the family-run Hofbräuhaus Traunstein stands for incorruptible brewing culture. Taste is not sacrificed to short-lived trends. Nevertheless, the brewery wheel is sometimes reinvented to get even more enjoyment out of hops and barley. Modern technology meets in-depth craftsmanship: a synthesis that benefits our taste buds in particular.
The brewery’s range is no longer limited to wheat beer. But no matter which variety goes down your throat, tradition and innovation are present. In times of industrial mass production, the strictly artisanal brewing process has something almost subversive about it. From open fermentation to several weeks of maturation in horizontal tanks to low-oxygen bottling technology – Traunstein means craft beer in the strictest sense and is therefore modern, different, and exciting.

Quality
Beer brings people together. That’s why the human factor must not be missing in the production process. The farmers at Hofbräuhaus Traunstein spin the beer by hand and can see, taste and smell its degree of maturity. The beer remains in contact with the yeast for several weeks due to horizontal storage and thus develops a particularly rich flavor. Later, the complex cold sedimentation process, which is only used in a few breweries worldwide, allows the yeast to work optimally. Finally, the special filtering and bottling technology brings out the maximum depth of flavor in the beer. Whether malt, hops, yeast or water: the ingredients come from Bavarian suppliers and are sourced locally. This is the only way to guarantee quality.
